About the event
Moon Cult + Open Sea Design Co are proud to present A Ritual for the Wolf Moon, a public gathering of witches and occultists to explore the magic of this Januaru full moon. This open ritual will draw from astrological themes and charms from Ancient Greek magic, but will be fully approachable and acessible to practitioners of all paths, beliefs, and experience levels. These full moon gatherings will focus on developing magical skills, exploring occult philosophy, and performing transformative acts of magic as a collective.
THE RITUAL FOR THE MIDSUMMER MOON : The Feast of the Witches
This month, our ritual occurs during one of the most potent astrological moments of 2024: the Full Strawberry Moon upon the eve of the Summer Solstice. This rare convergence, which emphasizes the heights of both lunar and solar cycles, only occurs every ~20 years. On this day of heightened magical potential, join us as we gather under the full moon for an evening of divination, magical feast, hedgecrossing, and immersive exploration of Summer Solstice folklore.
Doors at 7pm
Event at 7:15pm
This ritual will take place at the beautiful, new Open Sea Design Co studio in Dumbo, at 55 Washington Street, Brooklyn NY. This event begins PROMPTLY at 7:15pm, after which the chamber is sealed and no further admittance is permitted. Please plan to arrive early.

MELISSA MADARA is a witch, author, and educator based in New York City. They have been teaching and working in NYC occult for over ten years, and have organized their writing, research, lectures, and herbscraft under the banner of Moon Cult in 2023. Melissa's full moon rituals are a continuation of a series that began in 2018 at the now defunct Catland Books in Bushwick. These monthly rites began as a way to build a practicing community among local witches, and ended up becoming a sincere, dedicated lunar chapel. Each month, fully unique rites were presented to create an inter-traditional and approachable experience that would immerse participants in the themes and magics of current lunar astrology. These rites, accompanied by a light, homemade feast prepared by Melissa Madara, were designed to be immersive, evocative, and to provide participants with a safe space for experiencing ritual magic and building community. After a three year hiatus, Moon Cult is proud to bring these rituals back to the Brooklyn magical community, in the hopes of fostering a similarly holy confluence of witches, sorcerers, and magical people.
