Wax & Wick : Candle Craft of the Witch

Is there a more iconic tool in the witch’s toolkit than the candle? The use and craft of these objects has changed significantly throughout the course of history, from tallow tapers of the Roman pagans, to Tibetan buddhist butter lamps, to the colorful paraffin candlesticks and votives we know today. In this lecture, join us as we explore occult history for examples of candle magic, and look deeply at how these practices have changed throughout time and across the globe. We will discuss candle spells of the grimoires, lamp magic of the ancient world, modern carving and dressing practices, as well as a useful demonstration of how you can make a few different types of candles for spells of your own.
